As you have probably guessed by now, ONYX is an uncommon meeting planning company. We don’t believe that work and fun are mutually exclusive. This company culture hasn’t been designed as some sort of marketing gimmick – it has evolved as a natural reflection of the people who make up our company. Our people understand how to treat everyone with respect, whether we’re talking to clients, vendors, AV techs or doormen. We don’t believe that to gaining respect requires instilling fear. It’s just not who we are.

If you call us, we still answer our own phones. No auto-attendant or endless phone queues to wade through. Remember what that was like way back in the last century? Sure we have voicemail and of course we’ll chat through e-mail; you can even text us. But if you’re lonely for a real human voice, just pick up the phone. We don’t treat our clients or vendors like some kind of inconvenience – you are the reason we exist.
Sometimes the best planners and clients in the country don’t live in Kansas City. There was a need for us to be just a little closer to our Northeast clients, so we developed an East Coast office in New Jersey. We work in a very mobile and relatively virtual industry; but every once in awhile, we just need to be face-to-face with our clients. Don’t worry though — all the things that make ONYX the uncommon company that it is are present in our New Jersey office too. They just wake up before the rest of us.
